Dear Parents:

As C.P.G.A. Professionals, we know you want the best for your children. Being former junior players we share this concern. You want your children to have enjoyable and fulfilling experiences, the kind that will help them to develop maturity, good habits and sound values.

Certainly, the improvements of youngsters' golfing skills, is one objective of any junior program. Yet skill improvement even with its obvious value should not be the only objective of the junior program. Goals of greater value than low numbers on a scorecard can come through a youngster's golfing experience. Courage, perseverance, and self-control, are values that can be strengthened in a youngster's character through competitive golf. We hope to have your golfer join us this season.

Our Professional Staff offer clinics to all juniors, where they are able to hone their skills at their own pace. There are some junior tournaments for all level of players. As well as instruction, our program places an emphasis on etiquette of the game and why we play this wonderful game... to have fun!!!

To register for these events please contact the Pro Shop at 204-988-1540 or contact proshop@rossmere.ca.

Rossmere has an extremely well organized and fun program for women golfers. As an Oak or Aspen member, you can enjoy the company of the "Day Ladies" and/or "Business Ladies." Both groups golf on a regular basis and have a whole schedule of fun tournaments throughout the season.

One of the great things about Rossmere is that the ladies have set tee times starting at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, and starting at 11:30 on Sundays and holiday Mondays. Please advise the Pro Shop that you wish to play with the Ladies on the weekends 3 days prior in order to get your name in. Everyone should be at the club at least 1/2 hour before the first tee time, then we do a draw as to which group you will be playing with.

For the group that plays Wednesday nights before the 9-hole leagues, please book tee times depending on how many want to play. This is for the benefit of those who work during the week but can get away early enough. Usually we book around 4:00-4:30. The format is not quite the same as the weekends. We already know who's going to play together basically. We also have two ladies 9-hole night leagues that play on Monday and Wednesday nights.

Please contact the Ladies Executive President, Kathy Slezak, if you have any questions: kathyslezak@msn.com or phone (204) 254-1661 (home) or (204) 771-2124 (cell)
